Hiya Paul Love the channel. I'm subbed and followed for a while and it's helped me with my partners car a lot. Wonder if you have ever replaced the resistor which gives the cabin fan speeds ? Hers only works on highest setting and I'm told this is also a common fault. One of your wonderful simple clear videos would make me a fan for life.

I'll bet it was the police that smashed the window not the thieves. You see it on C5's Police Interceptors, a police vehicle equipped with an ANPR camera alerts the officers that a car is stolen and next minute they're all over it smashing windows with their batons to scare the thieves..

Hey what's up. I hope I'm not too late to the party. I did this procedure on my 2016 Fiat 500X 2.4L I4 SOHC with MES (MultiEcuScan) 5.1 and OBDLink SX USB cable and the blue adapter and grey adapter after swapping the "second-best" stock factory radio (with the Trip button) to the "best/top-tier" factory radio (with the Nav button), but when it gets to the radio/climate portions (where the blue adapter cable is required), I get a "timeout error". It's the same error that is provided if the cable is disconnected entirely from the car, or if no or incorrect adapter is connected between the OBDLinkSX and the car. I tried restarting and resetting anything and everything, having the seatbelts connected and disconnected, having the climate control on and off, having the radio on and off, and any other combination thereof, and through multiple tries, although everything else works out great and the grey adapter is recognized and all other Proxi Alignment procedures work successfully, I always get the Timeout Error when it gets to the portion of the climate control and radio portion (the portions of the Proxi Alignment that require the blue adapter). One thing to note before I ask my question: MES does not have the 2.4L 500X as one of the vehicle options in the list, so I click the 2.0L 500X, but that shouldn't make a difference for the Proxi Alignment procedure regardless. My apologies for the long-winded message, but I wanted to be thorough. My question is thus this: would all of this indicate a faulty blue adapter cable, or is there something else that could be the culprit of this issue? Mind you, I'm supposed to take my car in for the U90 recall, and they are supposed to update and reset the tranmission PCM through a Proxi Alignment at the dealership, but I'd like to resolve this before then so they don't ding me for whatever reason or refuse service or charge me for something. You may not need a new key. Just put the key in the ignition, switch it on and then press the open or the close button. That should sync your remote radio configuration.

Hi Paul. I have a Ford KA 2013 plate. Suddenly the USB port has stopped working, mileage flashing, phone wont connect (Infact the media settings don’t even show now!), two buttons on steering wheel stopped working (voice control and phone call) and the temperature dial and blower back light is no longer on. Do you think this is the blu and me?

Just wanted to say thank you for the video. My module just randomly died after 10 years and was causing a battery drain. I have now successfully removed it and hopefully fixed my drain issue. Saved me hundreds on not taking it to a dealer and only cost me $12 AUD for some WD40 and a wire brush. Once again thank you very much, From Perth Australia

Is this how you do a coolant flush? is there no cap in the bottom of the car to let all the coolant go? this all seems very involved.

I wonder if the sump has been changed and someone has dropped the manifold….and removed the heat shield at that time.

I wonder if it had an annoying rattle which they thought was the heat shield so they removed it. Then later on found out it was the air filter box and packed it with washers.

Is it much of a pain to change the airbags, do you need to reset the dash lights after or will it just go out after changing them.

Yes replace the bottom bar - it's a damaged safety item.

blue and me module failure must be up there .after it happened to me ,looked online and it seems very common failure.sadly i looked at fiats new system uconnect online and that seems to have same problem

@love500 Have you ever tried the Aliexpress Fiat 500 radio's with the touch screen blue tooth? They aren't as cheap as the option which you are showing, but are still very easy to install and don't get in the way of the window screen if that is an issue for you. The air vents are compromised some, but do sill flow air, you just can no longer position it. Maybe it would be worth trying one for us all to see?

not sure why you selected a fiat 500 that has NO steering wheel controls. Would have been better to select a year with steering controls to see if the canbus works with steering controls and display of radio information and song information that pops up near odometer. Your intro is great... but there are mulltiple parts of video where you do not aim camera properly and can not see what you are talking about (around the 21min mark). Did you see and edit your video before posting ? Also recommend if you learn something or are waiting for other parts... then reshoot your video after you know what you are doing.

Can these aftermarket headunits cause a battery drain. My blue and me module is disconnected but am still getting a drain after a day or so?

As a Fiat apprentice back in the late 70s early 80s I was taught to put my foot on the clutch before starting a car. When I questioned this I was told “you never know when a customer parks a car in gear or not, and by depressing the clutch it won’t jump forward or backward and hit something.” I still do it to this day.

I've done an edit on UA-cam to cut out completely the 4 minutes of audio that is doubled up. This must have been a corrupted file. It'll take a few hours for UA-cam to process it.
